there was a medical emergency on the train this morning, a young girl taken away in a stretcher. seems i'm bad luck on trains. about a month ago on another thursday morning, i was coming in for class when the train made an unscheduled stop at edison. everyone got off, then we were told to get back on. an announcement was made that the conductor was sick and that we would be on our way as soon as his replacement arrived. after another quarter-hour, we were told to get off the train again and exit the platform. police cars and fire trucks descended on the scene and the train was searched. a rumor spread that a suspicious bag had been found. in the end, we had to backtrack to new brunswick and catch a different train. except when we were boarding that one, a woman fell or was bumped on to the tracks. she lay there screaming in pain while everyone watched silently from the platform, waiting for paramedics to arrive.
